Isn't this the best? At my sister-in-law Erica's baby shower yesterday, everybody decorated onesies or bibs for the baby:
The baby shower was amazing, my sisters Eileen, Pattie and Kathi worked their fingers to the bone (in 100+ degree weather) doing all of the tables, chairs, food, drinks...heck, everything. They worked harder than I ever have!
It was a terrific party and I think everyone had a great time. Wish you were there!
A sincere "Thank You" to each of you who sent an email asking about my absence - the blogging community is amazingly supportive, isn't it? I am getting back to normal, and expect to start blogging again regularly. My E-store with classes and image collections is open, and my Etsy shop will re-open during the first week of October.
But, first things first, I never posted the winner of the September collage challenge ephemera package! The entry drawn was from Maria at A Journey That Starts Here. She wins the ephemera package and a special extra prize from me because of my delay in announcing it.
There WILL be another collage challenge on October 1st! The post is scheduled, the collage sheet is completed, the prize has been photographed, so it's ready to go.
And I'm leaving town! I leave tomorrow for 10 days in Southern California to visit my family (thanks to everyone who emailed Long Beach visitor suggestions last month). I'll be staying with my sister, a block from the beach. She has wi-fi on the patio, and I am bringing my gluebook supplies, so I expect to be VERY comfortable and happy there.
I promise to post some SoCal pics, and I'll post some pics of gluebook pages too...if I like any of the ones I create!
Last but not least...did I tell you I've changed the way I eat? This past spring I gave myself a talking-to (ok, so did my doctor) about my health. I cut out soda, fast food, sweets...and I started counting calories. I'm not getting nearly enough exercise, so I've still got a ways to go, but...
So far, I've lost 30 pounds. None of my pants fit and I had to get into the 'skinny-jeans' drawer to get out some things to wear on the trip. I still have skinnier-jeans to work towards, I'd like to lose about 25 or 30 more, but I tell you, getting into jeans I haven't worn in years sure feels good. Of course, they're probably hopelessly out of style, but who cares?
I hope all is well with you!
I'm having so much fun with these collage challenges that I've decided to do one every month. I hope you'll play along with me. It's amazing to see all of the beautiful creations, and the imagination and talent of the artists.
Here's our image sheet for September:Download September 2010 Challenge Lillian Russell
This month I almost went with an anonymous figure on a cabinet card, but decided on a famous 19th century lady instead - I just love her pose! She's an actress you may have heard of - Lillian Russell. Read about her on Wikipedia HERE.
Our sheet also includes images of an Irish postcard and a bouquet of red roses.
How do you play along?
And, as always, a participant will be picked at random to win a package of vintage paper...
So make something fabulous with at least a portion of all three images, post it on your blog or Flickr album, and connect us with the Linkytool below.
I can't wait to see what you create!
