...same as the old boss...
Had to exchange the new computer for another of the same kind. Some kind of a glitch made it continue to freeze up and not respond (like 7 times per half hour...grrrrr) Took it back last night & they were waiting for more to come in, went back tonight and got the replacement.
So far, this one seems fine. Wish me luck...part 2.
My friends Beth and Karla are hosting their first online workshop, Romantic Gothic Ghosts. They have created an amazing assortment of 7 Halloween themed projects, each is really lovely and so many of them could be used at any time, not just Halloween.
This is sure to be a wonderful class - they're both very skilled at creating fabulous projects - and explaining them so anybody can do them (trust me on this one, they've walked me though all kinds of stuff!)
I saw the projects and I'm anxious to make some beautiful things outside my usual comfort zone. If you have a chance, stop by and see the rest of the projects, the price of this class is very affordable and all of the images are provided. Lots of details HERE.
I'm on my computer...a lot.
Then, Friday night, it finally happened...the computer just shut down and died. I wrestled my son off his computer to answer a few stray emails, and kept the Blackberry with me to keep up with the Collage Coterie workshop.
So here it is - my new laptop.
I just spotted the dollar bill in the pencil holder - appropriate.
The new computer and I are getting to know one another. I'm not in love yet. Change is hard.
Wish me luck.
I'll be in Southern California late next month to see my family, staying with one of my sisters in Long Beach. Although my family is THE BEST, I'm the only one who's crazy about old, damaged, falling apart paper-y things.
I've been out there a zillion times, but usually don't have time on my own...maybe I will this time. If so, where should I go? (I'm bummed that it's the wrong timing for the Long Beach or Rose Bowl flea markets)
Does anybody have recommendations I may not already know about, for vintage/paper/art type fun? Great antique or vintage stores...I'm especially in the market right now for ephemera. Heck, you know what I like. Where should I go if I have some time to kill?
Any & all suggestions are welcome! Thanks everybody!!!
Don't forget this month's collage challenge, Lady Churchill. A vintage paper package will be awarded to one of the participants - completely at random - next Monday the 9th.Download Lady churchill challenge
Be sure to go back to THIS POST to show off your entry. While you're there, checkout all of the other entries - some terrific art is being created! Thanks everybody!
