Wild Kingdom

I cleaned some dead brush from a planter beside our deck a couple days ago and found what appeared to be an old nest of some sort, a hollow area with a few bits of fluff.  I wondered what made their home there last year. 

I went out to the planter today and some of the brush seems to be back...and little eyes were looking back at me. I think I disturbed someone's current nest, these 4 guys are pretty good size & not newborns.

 

The mother must have compensated for my demolition, rebuilt their little warren, and moved everybody back in. I promise I will leave them alone...now that I took their picture.

Amazing Art Website

In researching an Artist Class extra, I came across a site I have to share with everyone, it's so good.  The British Library has put some of their fine books on display in book format - you can turn the pages or click through them to see every page.

Just one of the amazing books is the original Alice, and you can see every page with the handwriting and drawings by Lewis Carroll.

 

Here are some print screens. To see the entire book and others, please visit the site. The Turning Page is a fairly quick free download and worked really well for me. 

As you can tell on the bottom of this print screen, you can magnify any part of the pages and even listen to some audio. 

I also took a look at the Leonardo pages and the Atlas, both amazing, so poke around.

Oh my, March is half over and I never posted a calendar page. So here's March 1897, followed by April...these match this year.

 

I'm afraid April's got that old-fashioned calendar format, so you'll have to read it a little sideways, but it's still awfully pretty!
