So gorgeous, I have to share. These are pages from Basic Grey's new paper line, Porcelain...
Today turned into a bit of a play day for me, starting with a really great lunch with Beth Leintz. We spent 2 hours talking paper. Heaven.
We're going to do an ephemera book swap - I want some of her vintage wallpaper very badly. She recently made an altered photo album and stuffed it full of cool ephemera, including some great paper dolls. It's available in her Etsy shop right now.
Beth also gifted me with the prettiest handmade, sparkly scarf; it's just the perfect length. Yummy.
She was kind enough to listen to me go on about how I deconstruct a book when I'm taking out the pages, and we discussed hanging on to the covers for art pieces and covers for ephemera journals.
I mentioned I seemed to have accumulated an awful lot of empty covers, and so I did a little inventory when I got home.
There's an entire box full...in fact the box is overflowing...
And yes, that's a glamorous cardboard box...this is the sort of thing that will keep me out of Where Women Create.
On the way home (ok, big detour) I went to Curious Sofa for more hand dyed ribbon. I love this stuff; here are my newest colors:
Isn't ribbon lovely? We all get excited about the oddest things, don't we?
I found this quote today, and I thought of all of the artists I know:
Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.
Although it snowed here this morning, and there was a good 2 inches on my car, the news programs claim we'll be at 44 degrees tomorrow. Welcome to Kansas City - if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes.
I'm happy to hear about the good weather - I'll be going to an antique show tomorrow and finding treasures to share on Etsy or eBay...and just to spend money in general.
I went to this show the last time it was held and it was too good. I spent too much money, and bought too many things just for me. That will probably happen again this time.
Beth Leintz is one of the vendors and bringing all sorts of goodies to tempt me. If you're in town, stop by, say hi to Beth. And look for me, I'll be staring at something cool and trying to talk myself out of it.
